Having had a successful career in Primary education, I increasingly appreciated how making things helped me rediscover my creativity and energy!
With many fond memories of happy coastal holidays with my parents, and then with my sons beach-combing and playing, Pebbles & Driftwood seemed an ideal name that resonated with what I wanted to feel as I created things for others.
I think it's important to share that crochet didn't come easily to me initially; I struggled to understand why the scarf I was making looked more like a piece of bunting as I randomnly increased or decreased my rows. For some reason though, I was hooked (!), and determinedly pulled down the scarf and re-crocheted it (many times!) until it was 'right'.
Since them I have loved learning new stitches, getting my head around a range of patterns, and I have made a wide range of products for my customers. I have successfully held a number of crochet classes for all ages and am delighted when previous course participants drop in to show me what they have made!
I am passionate about making hand crocheted items that are made with much love and care. I want my customers to be delighted with the items that they make and order, and strive to make each item unique in some way.
